Just another 1st gen gold wagon dd build; *yawn*

In that familiar position, ready to drop both sub frames and the drivetrain.

Think I've got a decent engine sitting out back. I'll open up the ports on both sides of the head and where the TB goes on the intake; slap on an OEM header going into a 2.5 exhaust and call it good. Probably put on one of my Catch Jar kits and a CAI of some kind as well. Not much more.

Rebuild the MP3 trans with MP2 5th gear and the new M-Factory LSD which I hope will be available soon. Might put in a aluminum FW if I can find one cheap. Shorten the shifter and maybe run some ball joint ended cables.

Whole rear end will be swapped with one that has disc brakes which is coming out of a 95 sedan in the junkyard. Will add hub spacers and maybe the Progress sway bar I have somewhere out in the garage.

Springs will also be Progress plus some KYB shocks I found on a another junker I bought.

Clean but still tan *bleh* interior. Got some black leathers but would have to find a dash, some door & interior panels + a console. I could re-do the headliner and paint the back panels. goal is get it running first; -plenty of time for wild hairs later.

One of the previous owners must have driven it here years ago. I bought it local for $550. It has new tires, new brakes, new alternator, new radiator and a blown? engine. (seems like it skipped time)

I charged the battery and turned it over. Seemed like no compression and it would not start but it did not make 'noises'. Seller said it 'knocked' and barely ran. Maybe I should check the compression before I pull it. -Just figured it was toast. I'll probably pull it all either way because I have another engine that looks good and I need to put in something.

Sweet car. My 1st was a gold 95 SL2. The current 93 SW2 is ok but I wish It was gold like the 1st car and had the better dash. I can't stand my 1st gen cluster for some reason.

You weld them in? Or is there a bolt-in solution?

right. if the chain failed, then you could probably find that by popping the cam cover off. if you have another complete engine sitting around, why isn't there video of this thing running yet?

Nope, bolts right in. All you need to do is cut a small hole in the b pillar cover, the OEM hole is covered by the new belt hanger, so you don't even see it. It was super easy and uses the oem bolt locations for everything.

Yeap, I had done this to my SL2 when it still had the interior.

DD sounds promising hein! Looking forward to seeing how things shape up. I chuckled at the snow picture.
