    Donnie's new Daily: 2004 NSRT-4.

After finally reaching my wit's end with the White Hot, and the disappointment that oft is the life of someone attempting to make the S-Series fast- I dipped out of the brand, ending an adventure spanning half a decade.

Initially I had a set search criteria for a replacement car. Quick, Four-Door, Reliable, Comfortable (more-so than a Turd), FWD/AWD (for those oh-so-fun Chicago winters) and with a strong aftermarket. Along these lines, I spent quite a while hunting for Ion Redlines and WRX's- All to no avail. Finally, I thought "Fuck! The Skittle fits ALL of my req's." and three days later, I had a title in hand.

9x,xxx Miles, clean interior, 25k on a replacement long block and rebuilt Trans, Clean Interior and reletively clean exterior, supposedly completely stock and unmodded, needing only mirror glass, Tires, Brakes and a Tie-Rod end or Ball Joint. Asking price was 6.5k originally, nabbed it for $5700.

Had it for five hours, and got eaten by a ford F-250.

Pulled everything off, drilled and cut out the Radiator Support...

And there she sits as of 7/12/2011, until this weekend. At which point the new support gets welded in place, Aluminum Rad is dropped in, Carbon Fiber hood, new wheels and tires and everything else get bolted on...

All that aside, current goals for my own piece of Dodge's bastard Child are as follows:

    -3" post turbo O2 housing.
-3" Downpipe w/ cut-out and Cat Delete. (To the stock Cat-back.)
    -Up-sized Intercooler.
    -Hard Pipes.
    -Injectors.
    -Walbro.
-DiabloSport Plug & Play Tuning Solution.
    -Re-built Trans with Billet internals.
    -Energy Suspension Master Kit.
    -Sway Bars.
-Tokicos or Konis with a decent lowering spring set.
    -17x8.25's on some 235/45/17 RS-3's.
    -Solid Engine/Trans mounts.

And that will be it for a great looking, Handling, 300/300ish WHP/TQ four-season Daily.

Because at the end of the day it's still a neon LOL.

I actually do like these cars though, it's easy to make them pretty quick. I think with donnie's plans and a pair of slicks he should see 11's no problem.

Long week... Nathan and JW came down friday night. We got hammered and broke out the power tools and welding equipment- Getting the Rad support on by saturday morning.

Saturday after they left, I cut apart the new support to fit the IC and Piping in, and mounted everything up. New Rad, hood and headlights went on. 3" cat-less cutout Down Pipe got bolted up, and three out of four new wheels/tires got tossed on. (Fourth I'm taking to my Ma's Boyfriend's to make use of his lift, for some serious cutting action. One lug is stripped halfway down, and torqued on too tight to do ANYTHING with.) New/used boost gauge got stuck in, and I spent a day or two wrapping up tracking down the piles of hacked up, fire-hazards of "wiring" from a previous owner. Lastly, replaced a missing Vaccum ref line- so It's no longer just running wg press of 5lbs.... 15lbs makes this car actually feel quick. Hahahaha.

Remaining work for the time being: Get last wheel off, install my Energy Suspension kit, Do brakes all four corners, toss on a Tie Rod end, get Aligned and drive to the dragon. Hopefully....

How well does the suspension on these cars handle 400+ hp to the front wheels? Do you get a ton of torque steer, or is it pretty well controlled?

It doesnt if you go to a strip with any kind of grip lol. Hope your going with larger axles and stronger trans. Also take care of any wheel hop problems now. We had nothing but bad luck with our srt once we surpassed 300.

    Adam knows whats up. lol.

I've got the whole front end switched to polyurethane as you'll recall. I'm going to making some additions to the trans, but I'm staying with stock axles. On 15's and slicks, the Axles will be my lifetime warrantied driveline fuses. lol.

Ehhh I dunno man I'd go with at least the upgraded Mopar ones. That red car I was toying with did not leave the strip on it's own once, and that was even on street tires. All because of axle breakage.

That's the thing. The OEM Axles are pretty stout, but they do blow rather easily from excessive hop. Now, toss a set of slicks on to eliminate that wheel hop, and they tend to hold quite well. The local guy I was discussing all of this with (He's in the 11's on the stock turbo... All torque. lol.) actually suggested this route after quite a bit of trial and error, and this setup is also pushed by many others I know of. I'll see where it takes me for now, worst case, it's not too hard to swap out a set of axles. lol.

Correct, slicks absorb a lot of it, and the wheel hop is much less likely. Most FWD's don't break axles from hooking too hard, its usually due to wheel hop....which is a PITA on street tires.

It should be kosher for track duty as it'll sit, plus some Mickey Thompsons. Street Duty... Well, I wouldn't be launching it on the street anyway. Though RS3's, 8.25" wide wheels and the boost by gear should help there some regardless.

Oops. Done changed mah mind again.

Had been half-assedly hunting for a Mopar S3r since I got the car. Then boom, BNIB sale of the last ones pops up! I'm now just waiting on my 3.5" O2 to get fabbed up and shipped to me, and the car is FINALLY fucking ready to get tossed together.

Current projections by the guy that may be helping me tune the bitch is mid-high 300s on pump and a cunt-hair over 400s on the corn-juice. I'm not holding my breath, but this is exciting nevertheless.
