Today I longed to work on my 97SC2 clutch but since I just rolled my ankle and broke my tibia, not sure when that'll happen

Spent 2 hours at work today learning how to tig weld. Mangled a few sheets of stainless before i started laying some decent beads. Best way to learn I guess. Just glad someone else is paying for material. Need some more practice before I try building my turbo manifold.

Picked up my dehorned and shot peened first gen rods, also built a 2.5" down pipe for the header I got. Sneaks past everything without touching. Got a few changes that I'll make this weekend to it though. Good exercise in pie cuts for my turbo build coming up.

I changed up the setting for my cam angle pick-ups. For some reason the #4 was getting really noisy and causing it to run like bag of turds under 2k rpm and that was causing the plugs to foul out. I'm not sure why this problem took 3,500 miles to manifest but it did.

I think the tooth it was reading was the short/small tooth and it might have been picking up the edge of the next tooth causing the reading to flip out.

The shit bucket is still misfiring. Something wonky is going on with the #4 cam. Itd not jumping 40degrees anymore but only 10ish now. But if i command full oil pressure it only swings around 1degree... Which is normal.

Im not sure why it took 3700 to start acking up but im going to find out shortly.

Did a acetone atf piston warm piston soak. Worked much better than seafoam or mmo. Also the white smoke helped me find my exhaust leak.....right in the middle of my 4 to 1 collector on my header. FML

Never heard of that before. What's the ratio and how long?
I would think the acetone would be gone pretty quickly if you're doing it on a warm engine, as acetone has a high vapor pressure and is therefore likely to evaporate.
Although the mix with atf will slow that down, I still think it won't hang around too long.

    1) Stared at the empty hole that used to be the rear glass of my 97SC2
    2) Beat on the company that was to have shipped the replacement glass 2 weeks ago -- after 30 min, they could not tell me if the fucking glass had shipped
    3) I found another company claiming to have one in their warehouse. I made the dude on the phone call the warehouse to confirm, Nope, not there. Chased down what I think is the exact same piece of glass the other company put their thumb up their ass on. A lot cheaper.
    4) Canceled first order.

Haven't looked at car again to decide if parts removal is necessary because my fucking broken ankle mega swells and throbs when not elevated and I've yet to put any real weight on it. Aches like fuck right now but you guys are worth the pain.

    Knowledge is power.

the whole thing takes about 2 hours because of evap but once you pour in you just drop your plugs back in the hole. if your ring is really stuck itll be open and the mix slips by and starts to soften the varnish and carbon. all I know is it works well. 50/50 mix.

Was havin a good night with the car last night, then I go to roll the passenger rear window up and the regulator breaks, after breaking 3 door skin bolts I got the window back up. But I do wonder who thought it was a good fucking idea to make the regulator track out of plastic?!

Thank you for the ring tip, sir.

As far as the ankle goes:
I was walking down the sidewalk at breakneck speed trying not to be late for an interview. I caught the toe of my dress shoe (which I never wear) on the sidewalk while bringing my leg forward to stride and completely folded under my ankle and kinda only half landed on it b c my momentum was in the forward direction.

Some kind strangers helped me up. They also told me I was walking in the wrong direction w r t my destination
I then proceeded to limp 1 1/2 blocks back in the other direction on my broken ankle with no assistance to the interview -- for which I was 3 minutes late.
Broken tibia (big bone) at ankle. Swells like a MF and hurts like hell when not elevated. T + 1 1/2 weeks. Maybe put some weight on it this week. Need to get the glass shards out of my speakers (surface mount) and remove rear deck for sure anyway.

No, I didn't get the job.

Sounds like some shit you would see in a movie. Sucks dude, hope for a speedy recovery. Bet it was difficult to answer interview questions with a throbbing pain in the leg.
