    You can. But once it brittles, it will break in more than one place. So you are better off just replacing it. It’s easier too. $6 at Autozone.

    According to the OEM manual, spec is 22 foot pounds. I believe that if I torqued it to that, it would crack. I used 89 inch pounds per the interwebs.
