Basically, I'd like to see how each of these would do with the Eibachs and the Progress 1.8s. Also, what switching to a 17x7.5 wheel would do with either of these two choices...

Re: The official wheel and tire fitment thread!

I'm going to edit this being as though the 215-40-17 will fit...

Exact Model of Car: 2000 SL1
    Wheel Width: 7"
    Wheel Diameter: 17"
    Wheel Offset: 35-40mm
    Tire Width: 225

Springs: Eibach ProKit / Progres 1.8s
    Camber (F/R): ? (Needs alignment)

Basically, I'd like to see how each of these aspect ratios would do with the Eibachs and the Progress 1.8s. Also, what switching to a 17x7.5 wheel would do with either of these two choices, if anything...

I'd like to pick these up tomorrow so looking for a quick but true answer.

Re: The official wheel and tire fitment thread!

you'd probably want a lower offset if you're buying a 7.5" wide wheel unless you want to run wheel spacers. I'll drop in a pic of my car with 215/40R17's on a 17x7 with the eibachs.

Heck, I just went with 215/40/17 couldn't pass up the price. If need-be, I can always grab another set, you can never have too many sets of tires right

I rock 215/40r17s with a 2" sprint drop. I think you should be fine.

It may rub on hard corners. I had a very similar setup on my 97sc2 for a while.

205/50 on an 8" wheel? Where did you find this 16x8?

CAn't give you an exact answer, but I highly doubt that setup would be rub-free, and you would likely need a spacer to clear the strut.
