Re: The official wheel and tire fitment thread!

I'm starting to think these posts should be added to a spreadsheet/table in the first/second post.

That would be awesome. People just don't want to read apparently. I figured the whole reason for this thread was just so we could gather up everyone's wheel/tire fitments so people could see if that setup has been run and how it works for Saturns.

I wasn't being harsh. Just kills me that the first page of this thread has 20ish different setups and the last 2 that have been asked could have been found within 5 minutes of reading. Definitely think a spreadsheet would make this easier.

Feel free to start a spreadsheet. I'll put a link to it/embed it in the first post. I'd do it myself but I have an extreme lack of time.

I will see what I can come up with. May take me a little bit, but I will post up when I have it done.

Cool, I suggest a spreadsheet from google docs. Easy to embed. If you want to do it in a table though, start a new thread and a I'll lock it/link it to this one.

    http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...=0&output=html

Link to data that Type SL2 compiled.

Does anyone know how to make this data sortable? I'd like to allow people to sort by wheel dia, tire width, etc.
Also, if you dont provide enough info, I'm not including it in the spreadsheet... its of no use to anyone. I'll update it periodically, and so will TypeSL2.

TypeSL2: Include comments in the far right column if you can regarding the rubbing/clearance issues.

I will try to get to that tonight if I have time. I was able to sort the stuff when I edit it, but I guess that function gets disabled for just viewing. Would be nice to have that function. I will look around in there and see if it's an option somewhere.

Do you have any bulging issues with your tires (outwards from the wheel) with the 7 in. wheel width and the 225 tires? I am thinking of going with 16x7 wheels myselfon my '94 SL2 (except with 35 offset) but I am afraid of putting any tire on that's bigger than a 205 for fear of bulging. Anyone's thoughts? Maybe I could list what I am thinking of for my car in this post, as well.

225s will be perfectly fine on a 7 inch wheel.

I'm going to be getting tires when spring rolls around, and I was wondering what the widest tire I could get away with with my stock steel rims/suspension was

i previously had 215-40's on the same wheels, with no issues. the guy at the place i had my tires put on said they'd def rub and i'd need to trim the fenders. he got them put on said he couldnt get them to rub, in the parking lot at least, and that they may rub under hard turning. any help as to if they will/wont rub would be great. and in the event that they do rub, what's the proper was to trim my fender wells?

Re: OFFICIAL Wheel and tire fitment thread!

They are probably going to rub. My car rubbed a little with the 215/40r17. I used an air saw. Worked great. You could pretty much do whatever you want. It's just plastic.

when you say probably, do you mean under aggressive driving only or just in general? the last thing i want to do is ruin this new set of tires. in the event i need to trim my fender wells, how do i know where to trim them? i know that may sound like a noob question, but want to make sure i do things right when cutting something.

    thanks for the input fellers!

Re: OFFICIAL Wheel and tire fitment thread!

The only part that will probably rub is going to be the plastic inner fender trim/splash shield. You will just have to see where it rubs that part and trim as needed. Other than that, you may want to bang the seam flat that runs up above the tire. I haven't personally had the problem of it rubbing there, but have heard of it.
