    OBD1 PCM Modification

Well I still don't know how many of you are interested in modding the OBD1 computers, so I guess I'll poke my head out and show you my findings so far. Basically some more fuel stuff, a lot of DTC checks (I like turning off DTC 32 since I could care less about cleaning the EGR port). I guarantee nothing is accurate, but I will say I haven't had a problem modifying plenty of variables on my own car. Mostly I've modified the VE table so the INT stays near a perfect 128 with the higher ethanol gas nowadays.

Attached is the definition and modified bin I use, if anyone chips their PCM for a different year I wouldn't mind making one up for that year as well.

Sucks this is OBDI only. Would make it really nice to be able to tune a stock OBDII PCM.. Damn encryption.

You've always done a great job. You are one small, but important, part of a fairly small community. If it wasn't for my MegaSquirt, I'd be all over this. Keep up the good work!

I'm interested in this too. Never got into hacking ecu's but if there is someone out there that can do/explain it, I will certainly listen.

    Re: OBD1 PCM Modification

Stock settings would be nice to see....like the correction factor
    IE
fuel enrichment per coolant and intake temps
    injector compensation
    timing number
    ve numbers

Cracking the code would have made it alot easier for alot of use about 10 years ago.
Just think of how many more boosted turds there would have been if you could just plug into the stock computer and reflash it with a few keys strokes.

I'm fascinated with this since I need to do some tuning on the wagon. I downloaded tuner pro and stated poking around in it but was wondering what you were using for the emulator?

I want to hear more. If I can just tune my stock pcm rather than piggyback tune it I'd be ecstatic.

Did they have a separate ROM for Cali/NY that year? I couldn't tell off SaturnWiki.

And just before i was about to buy a megasquirt... would this be any more difficult to operate then any other standalone? Wondering if any of us less computer savvy people could get into this, i mean i gotta learn at some point or another.

Seeing as how tuning is nothing more than understanding the concept of EFI and punching numbers into software, I don't see how it's any more difficult/easier.
