Who should be the Sixthsphere "Winter Beater" of the month?? Vote now.

Good luck to all those who have entered for the first WBOTM lol. Voting will run until the end of the month.

Mars Volta and Frankensaturn, I will keep your entries for next month, going to do something different but neither of your cars would be considered "beaters".

    The Shaolin's 1991 Chevrolet K1500

    The good:

    -350 V8
    -5 Speed Manual, shifts great
    -4 Wheel Drive, works eventually.
-Long bed, custom cargo tiedown anchors installed
-Tow hitch and EBC, tows nice.
    -Hooker headers

    The bad:

    -13 some MPG
-Yes, it's 4WD, but with TWO OPEN DIFFERENTIALS?! Who thought of that bullshit? I got stuck on ice on a clear day while trying to go from reverse to 1st in my alley...for about 5 minutes.
-Vacuum actuated 4wd...takes up to a minute to engage or disengage
-Afraid to wash it, I think most of the dirt is structural
    -Driver's header leaks badly
-Joan lost the bedliner out of the back on the highway in hurricane force winds and chased it down in heels and a skirt. Wow.
-Originally came with the V6, idiot previous owner put in the V8....entirely with butt connectors.
-Electrical system made of cold solder joints. (All buttons on radio and both speakers work whenever they feel like it. Cold solder joints in wiper box means wipers work intermittantly (pun intended)
-Horn, Cruise, brights no longer work.
-Headliner, glove box, blah blah blah
-Driver's door hinge busted. Door sags, doesn't close straight, and sometimes won't close at all.
-Title is perfectly clean except for one entry with four terrifying words. 1994 - "VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE"

    The Ugly:
    -450MPG....of OIL (that's 2 quarts a fill up)
-Body rusted through in a few spots:

-Cab corners and door sills completely gone:

    -Cab mounts rusted through:

-Hit a pothole and lost the spare off the back. I glanced in the rearview and saw a wheel chasing me, thought I was driving it on three!

    Future plans (hilarity factor 10):
    -Mount spare on hood
-try some bodywork. I have weld-in panels...then some bondo, and then the whole vehicle gets
    -BEDLINER'D
-Fix cruise, wipers...maybe the door. Fuck the rest.
-Continually dump in oil additives, even though I'm confident it needs rings.
-When I can afford a nicer truck, jump it till the cab falls off.

    ProDarwin -- 1995 Saturn SW2

    Engine
Bone stock. Burns oil, but runs great. ~170k miles. Auto trans with a sticking valve body.

    Suspension
Bone stock. Every bushing is probably shot. All 4 strut mounts make clunky clunk noises.

Wheels are Honda 14x5" steelies with 195-60-14 Blizzaks.

    Interior
The original door panels were shit, so they were replaced with those from an SL2 with manual windows, leaving a crank hole in each door panel. Most of the cloth seats came from a junkyard car, except the back seat uprights are still the leather originals.

Does door sill rust count as a mod?

    Audio
All of the speakers are stock. It has the higher end cassette equalizer radio from 96... but its locked due to the factory theft protection. So no audio really.

    Exterior
Rear bumper (and consequently the trunk floorpan) was custom molded by the front end of an Altima.
Front bumper was custom molded by the car I was pushed into that left the scene.

    Additional info
The right rear door doesn't open sometimes depending on how you are parked. The right rear body panel was pushed forward in the accident and sometimes binds with the door.
The left rear power window does not go down.

Only mod is the Pionner head unit. It has custom leaves in the engine bay for added flair, and the clear is chipping on the hood.

TheDumbAss -- 1995 GMC Sonoma Extended Cab 4x4

    - Engine: 4.3L TBI all stock. Covered in dirt. Recently repaired with a few junkyard ignition parts.
    - Suspension: All stock, all shot, and covered in rust. Needs new everything. Lift shackles on rear.
    - Interior: Missing Jump seats, has holes in panels, full of tools and dirty.
    - Audio: Pioneer 5800MP with a bad ground. Bought for $20 from a pawnshop w/o wiring harness.
    - Exterior: Rusty bed, Poorly painted red accent. Black accent is spray can undercoating.
    - Additional info: Bought as a work truck over the summer. It has been broke for about 2 months, but was finally fixed last week thanks to a junkyard ICM. Actually rides pretty well. Reasonably quiet. Hasn't gotten stuck on me yet, even when driving through fresh snow deeper than the axles.
