Plastigauged the main bearings last night. All were between ~.002" and .0015" with the Advance auto crank. Need to do the rod bearings tonight and then make sure the thing spins alright. Also I need to install that crank keyway before I forget about that...

I need to go bug John at Gaskets2Go to see what the status is on the MLS.

Assembled the bottom end over the weekend. I friggen love those tapered piston ring compressors, so easy to install pistons. I emailed John at Gaskets-2-Go to inquire about a ship date for the MLS. Joe @ ACC should have the cams out to me this week. Still need to find some '98 valve springs to finish up the head. The motor might be in the car by the end of next month.

The ACC cams are enroute. Seeing as I have have oodles of stock cams laying around, I may just list them up on FB as cores for people to send over to Joe. Otherwise, I'm still waiting on the head gasket and still trying to find '98 valve springs. I've spent most of my time as of late trying to sell junk I dont want to move back to Michigan. So far the YZ250 is gone. Still waiting for parts to fix and sell the BMW Dakar bike and my riding mower.

John @ gaskets2go said the MLS is getting shipped out today and will be here in 2-3 weeks. I guess that gives me plenty of time to keep procrastinating on everything else.

As I may be moving in with a group of friends this summer, I spent the majority of last night assembling a pile of garbage comprised of leftover turd parts...However, even if I got rid of 75% of my junk, I still have too much to take with me -__-. I'm gonna dump all my extra transmissions [Maybe save one gearset in a box], like 6 brake calipers, 7 throttle bodies, even more crank pulleys, and all the random manifolds I've accrued over the last 10 years of fail. If I only have 500lbs of stuff to scrap, I'll be shocked.

Oh, and I need to get rid of my mountain of wheels as well. Hopefully CL serves me well for those.

Probably not. I'll probably just keep it as a novelty. I'm piecing together DOHC swap components so that as soon as I can drive stick again I'll swap in a fresher engine to hopefully last the life of the vehicle.

Good man. This is pretty much the universal realization with everyone at this point. Just keep them NA, beat the piss out of them, and enjoy them for what they are...Kob was doing it right all along.

But some of us are just gluttons for pain I guess. Speaking of Kob, I dug out his old shifter covered in green jizz. Need to get around to installing that.

Don't count me out though.. I messaged the guy that bought my forged car to see if he'd be interested in my BMW for it.. and if not if he'd want to sell it back at the price he paid a couple years ago. I only sold it because I had to choose turbo toy or BJJ and BJJ won.

Knee injury. A weird set of circumstances which led to me needing an auto transmission which resulted in getting an RHDSL1 . I should be able to drive normal in another week or two it feels like.

I believe my MLS gasket has arrived and is floating around somewhere at the post office [They're gonna call me when they find it].

Still dragging my ass on the oil line shit. I need to clean up a different pan and add the drain tube in. I'm apprehensive about all of this since I had so many leaks last time with the turbo oil fitting coming from the block, leaks for the fitting into the turbo, leaks out of it, and from the pan fitting....I want to guarantee that shit doesn't happen again.

For the pan, I want to drill a hole as high as possible so that it will drain into the pan instead of being submerged by the oil in the pan. I was thinking of taking a steel pipe, welding it at a slight upward angle and tacking it to the pan sealing surface so it stays in place/doesnt crack off. Id then weld another pipe section to point upwards toward the turbo. I need to figure out if there are -10AN to NPT fittings that would work for this plan. Then I need to figure out how to do the feed line AND incorporate the pressure/temp sensors into it.

I seriously feel like building a motor is easier than dealing with this oil pipe/fitting shit. :P

For guys running external crank triggers I feel like the factory trigger port on the back of the block would be an good place for returning the oil from the turbo. It's nice and high so you wouldn't have to worry about oil getting backed up. It's a bummer it's on the back side of the block though.

I need that crank signal for the Tach on the cluster. Thats one of the benefits of your Tec magic box, you can make your own signal to drive the RPM gauge. Besides, I'd rather have the drain be more up and down. I believe my main issue before was my drain hole being too low on the pan because the bolt on fitting/flange was so damn big. I'll try to start mocking things up this weekend.

My package wasn't at the main Post Office in Columbus. It turns out that the tiny farm town that I live outside of has its own Post office. Its only open from 8 to noon M-F so I'll need to hit that up on Thursday.

You need a large diameter drain tube for the turbo. Precision calls for something like 5/8"/-10AN or larger for the drain. Otherwise things may not drain properly and cause oil the blow past the seals or leak elsewhere.
