Had the shop measure my combustion chamber volume: 41cc
So I passed that info and the MLS compressed height [1.3mm] over to Ross, and hopefully they get back to me shortly.
I also contacted John at gaskets to go for a custom MLS gasket. I'll get that going shortly.

In the mean time, I'm gonna throw the head from the Splaturn motor on my original SOHC block that smoked like a mofo and drive that around until the the GE motor is back together.

I'll admit blowing a head gasket and smoking my pistons was my fault for being overly excited, but this is unexpected. This is piston #4 out of the splaturn block. Amazingly the high comp. head was not damaged by the missing chunk. Lol

So fuck 3rd gen pistons and rods(TTY bolts....). I'm slapping this head on my original SOHC block with almost 200k and it'll be the last motor I run with these garbage pistons.

Emailed Ross again to see what the hold up was on that quote.
They responded with a request for a CC number to prove I wasn't wasting their time with this. lol

I'm also gonna try looking into oil mods in the interim.
I'll take pictures for the Oil bypass mod as well as my attempts at figuring out how to baffle the pan and increase its volume.

So apparently Ross lost the dimension for our rod stroke. Is the stroke and even 87 mm or is it a fraction of 87? Thanks

Thanks Sam. I got pretty lazy when asking that, just struggling to find motivation for life in general.

Ross charged a deposit and is starting on making the pistons. I'll bug them for a shipping date.
Next I need to measure how big of a bore the MLS gasket needs for the 86mm pistons. Guess I'll measure how much larger the original MLS gaskets are compared to a stock bore to get an idea.

I'll also be redo-ing my transmission ratio spreadsheet to consider various redlines, gear steps, RPM after shifting, etc for people to reference.
With a quick check, I'm more inclined now to use the 1st gen MP2. It has half of the gear step between 2nd and 3rd when comparing the ratio change % of the 3rd gen MP2 and MP3 for their 2>3 shift.

Arnt the 1st gen MP2's kinda hard to come by? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one.

I used the 91 MP2 gear seat. When I shifted at 7k it always dropped into the power band on my gude cams with the t4 turbo. First was a little longer too so it didn't blow the tires off as easily. It was a great gear set.
Make sure you have a newer case to put the gears in or get prepared to cut some extra shit off the trans. The 91's had that weird mounting system that has extra casting on the front for the strut mount thingy they used.

Here is my first comparison of the Early MP2 and Latest MP3 gearsets.
    Some assumptions made were:
    - Random Torque curve
    - 15% Drivetrain/line losses
    - No traction loss [We could achieve over 1G of acceleration in 1st gear if this were the case. lol]
    - No time/power loss from shifting
    - I subtracted road load losses based on vehicle speed.
I grabbed the ABC coefficients from EPA CSV [2000]. Hopefully they represent real Roadload character, not just dyno ABC coefficients [Its aero limited to 240-250 kph]

Not the most realistic analysis, but we can see how much more quickly the MP3 goes through gears without a huge speed benefit compared to the MP2.
The 1st Gen MP2 has more progressive ratio steps than the MP3. Also the Matrix helps see what RPMs you will shift into after each gear, so you can confirm if you'll be in full boost or dropping out of the powerband.

But yeah, most turbo guys are going to be making more than 250ftlbs at the crank, so you can imagine how much more quickly you would run through the MP3 gears compared to the MP2.

First hand comparison from mp2 to mp3, third/fourth gear are night and day different. Third and fourth pull so much harder with the mp3.
72 Charger: pissed me off, on jackstands.
95 SW1m: Dohc swap. DD. I can haz boost?

They do, the steeper slope of velocity change reveals that. So in that respect the MP3 is more fun. Especially below 100mph

I feel like once you start pushing 350-400hp though the MP3 3rd would no long be able to handle it except for on a treated track.
