    Another Projector Thread

Since i wont be home at all to screw around with the engine, rear subframe, etc, i figured this would be a good time to go forward with throwing projectors into a set of stock headlight assemblies that im getting from Carson(and ditch my plugnplay HIDs)

Dont know much about Projector HIDs as far as what parts to get or how to wire them up. I did some searching on here and didnt find much(TSX projectors have been used, you need to pay for quality parts, and i also found this informative thread: http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...projector-hack). Ill continue to nose around on here and SF, but as far as the electrical aspect of the projector mods, I still didnt find anything.

Yeah, I'm going to have to cut up the housings. The mh1 should fit a 3rd gen headlight without cutting it up

I was gonna say, you can find some decent projector housings for around 55-80$, Plug n Play HID Kits from SharpHID.com are like 80$ For the top of the line Heavy Duty or Slim Ballast. You can get the standard ones for about 45 (35w) and 60$ (55w). Currently running a set of these on my 95 GST and it puts my SC1's light output to shame. I tryed them in non-projector housings and it was nearly as good, just a little better than the newish white bulbs I have in the sattie.

    Stop giving shitty advice...

Alex I forgot about your pnp kit you already have. You can get AMP to D2S connectors on TRS under the ballast section for $15 and use your existing wiring with D2S bulb.

I have the Morimoto Minis in my SL2 and I'm happy with them. They're pretty small, which is obviously a plus, considering how small the s-series housings are. Since you already have ballasts and ignitors, you can get MMs with bulbs with the AMP connector that will match your current ballast/ignitor setup.

Whatever route you go, I strongly recommend you get something bi-xenon. It's worth it (and not at all difficult to wire--you just need to connect the solenoid to your OE high-beam wiring).

Pay careful attention to the alignment of everything. Make sure the beam is level, points straight forward, and is the right height, before you attach the projector to the housing. (Obviously you can adjust height and left/right angle with the housing's adjustments, but if you start messing with the housing alignment too much, it will be noticeable, just looking at the car. You'll definitely need to aim them no matter how precise you are, but you need to get them as close as possible at the stock adjustments.)

I sold that PnP crap to my old roommate. They actually work alright in 3rd gen SC2 headlights.

and the FX-R III projectors are bixenon:
    http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=141

Yeah, the positioning of the lights will be the hardest part since i wont be bolting anything in. I'll have to cut out a big chunk out of the back of the headlight to get these to fit, and will have to epoxy them in.

Since ill be cutting up everything, ill have to repaint the reflecting material on the inside. Id rather do a reflective silver to keep it looking as stock as possible, but will go black otherwise. Regardless, id like to ditch the orange turn signal lens, but it looks like removing it is gonna be a chore. Glad i have an oven in my apt.
