Maybe I'll soon have braking that's all uneven/garbage.
    I don't get it.

Drove it 50 more miles to work. will drive it 50 more miles home tonight.

Finally sank in that I bought the little turd just over 11 years ago and I've put over 250K miles on her. Guess I got my $5K worth.

Still haven't swapped the clutch, because it still works.

Finally got a decent weekend to start working on the wagon.

Ready for new tranny and some good engine parts.! Along with a really good subframe. Going to do a bit of welding on it also while it is all apart.

I pulled the motor and tranny out of the turbo car. When I pulled the motor apart I found the only thing wrong was a blown head gasket. It was just shooting so much oil. I thought there was a crack in the block but could never find where it was coming from. So maybe that will end up in the wagon sooner then I thought.

Finished suspension refresh on the BMW

New struts/shocks/mounts on all 4 corners, reused old H&R touring cup springs that I've had forever on it
    New pads/rotors/caliper clips
New Swaybar Endlinks ( Hotchkiss ones stripped the threads getting them off the old struts )
    New inner/outer tie rods
Removed UUC Swaybarian front swaybar and replaced with OEM and stock bushings.

FINALLY got rid of the steering wheel vibration I couldn't track down the last few years.. time to get it aligned now.

Thrilled. It's got 238k on it but doesn't burn any oil and runs generally smooth. Hopefully I can start putting miles on this instead of all the ones I've been racking up on the Honda.

Sitting outside drinking in relative warmth trying to generate the motivation to follow through with the EDIS install.
Guess I've become tired of expected failure with this thing.

We had some awesome weather here today (high of 80, sunny and low humidity) so I took the hotrod to work. Its running pretty damned well.
I have to revisit the warm up enrichments because its a little lean in just about everything other than closed loop operation, but it runs so damned well once its warmed up that I dont care too much about the warm up (it keeps me from putting my foot into the throttle until its warm).

Got it aligned on Saturday morning. Drove it home from the shop, pulled into my driveway.. Got stuck ( blizzard over the weekend ).. left it basically in the middle of the yard. Drove the truck all weekend instead ( snow tires on a RWD truck = winning ). Might use my dad's truck (4WD) to yank it loose tonight or just wait for the snow to melt around it enough.

Replaced the thermostat and coolant sensor on the Honda. Had to remove the bumper/headlights to get the AC fan off, but in the process I learned that there is a bulkhead cover that unbolts and you can basically lift the engine directly through the front end of the car unobstructed once you do. It opens up a full sized radiator hole directly in the front of the car. Kind of like service mode on Audis but a 1.5L NA engine instead of some V8 shoehorned in there.

There needs to be more of those easy access holes.

There have been times where I have been so frustrated trying to get bolt out That is up against a frame rail. Cutting a hole has crossed my mind many many times.

Bought a set of Contental Control Contact Sport A/S for the Astra last Saturday. Had ordered a set of General GMAX A05 at $91 each but Discount Tire screwed up and never actually sent them to the store. So, they gave me the in stock $128 each Contentals for the same price.

Little over 100 miles on them but I'm happy so far.

Also 6 speed swapped it Saturday.

Well, I swapped the knob since I broke my reverse lockout over the winter. For the same price I got the 6 speed knob just for shits and giggles. 6 speed was not an option in North America.

Had a good time at auto x with the wagon today.

The car used to oversteer a lot (last season). I turned down the rear swaybar and over the winter the car got an energy suspension master set. Realigned with a bit more camber. Car feels more neutral now.

Im still running used RS3's up front and brand new Rivals in the rear so I'm sure that has something to do with it but the rear feels planted. Looking forward to getting the Rivals on all 4 corners.

Cleaned the EGR valve, cleaned some of the oil off the block and trans in an attempt to find the leak, took a wire wheel and some self-etching primer to some of the rust, and pulled the cowl in an attempt to figure out why my drivers side windshield washer nozzel has no pressure

Drove the BMW some more. Had to buy a new gas cap for it. The old one was on there long enough to seize in place and actually rip the top half off when I had to remove it with pliers.

Tracked down the cause of a CEL in the Honda, frayed CTS connector wire. Replacing it tonight hopefully.
