The honda transmissions did have an issue with the converters making a surging feeling at low RPM in high gear...but it was at around 1000-1200 RPM and would go away with higher PRM.

They do have a pressure control valve at the top of the trans that could be going out but they will set a code. The only other thing I can think of is that maybe the TPS signal was noisy causing it to think you were starting to accelerate slightly and it would unlock the converter.

Its an interesting issue for sure. I have not seen it happen on any of the vues I have serviced or that have come through our dealer. Hopefully it was just a fluke.

I wouldn't expect people to go to the dealer for this. A normal person wouldn't notice this because it just requires more accelerator pedal application to maintain speed or accelerate. It simply results in a less "direct" driving feel if you ignore the worse fuel economy and increased engine/trans temps.

Update on my aforementioned acquisition of Brandons coupe:

Its not surprising that BC.livewire renigged on selling his car to me...bastard....lol. So I'm gonna go out there anyway and help him slap the bitch together so he can actually drive the fucker. I'm bringing stock exhaust shit on the assumption that we wont get all the boost crap on there in one weekend. It'll be a start I suppose. Stay tuned for more OG resurrection-ness.

The Saab is back on the road after the deer strike. I could not find a straight black hood locally. All the parts line back up so that is the good news. Still need the ac condenser and a grill. Instead of paying for a used intercooler I ended up using a front mount I had laying around.

I still think the car needs to be at least an inch lower.

to be honest, i'm surprised he still has that thing. and i'm not at all surprised that he changed his mind about selling it since he has kept it this long.

BTW kick him in the sack for me.

Had the mazda5 towed as the transmission no longer wants to accept a gear. Reverse has become a forward gear o.0 not sure if the pressure plate was destroyed by the (maybe damaged flywheel) or if the transmissions complete destroyed.

Tune in next time for carnage pics.

Took another day off of work and got the floor filled in with dirt tonight. Then moved the Z into my garage. Finally.

Its a tight fit front to back, but that's fine. It's under a roof.

Bought them 2 years ago and picked out the rates I wanted. The only fitment problem I ran into is the swaybar brackets hit the stiffening part in the mounting bracket. I'm a old guy so going from stock spring rates to firmer bother me. I assume they tested the coilovers on a SOHC Saturn without the swaybar.

those are basically H&R rates. I wonder how much travel they have. I am very disappointed in the travel of the H&Rs on my DD. They ride like garbage with one coil cut.

I'm interested in how they feel also. I noticed that DGR seemed to drop the Saturn listing also. But, I thought they were just HotBits now. The link for the Saturn page of their catalogue is below.

What did you do to your car today?

Wow. There is a lot of options. Remote reservoirs. Both bound and rebound adjustments. Helper springs. 780-1400 isnít bad for all that.
