I polished the lights on the silver car when I got it. Looked great. They need done again but some of the mounting clips are broke so it would be better to replace them. But, these are not easy to find in the junkyard and internet prices can be crazy.

The white car will be done but I have several other things to sort on that car still.

Also need to do my wife's truck's headlights...

Well, I may have spoke too soon. The car got a little hot last night. Went and checked the coolant, and the tank was dry. Filled it up after that and drove to work this morning and found that coolant had overflowed from the reservoir. Not sure if its combustion gases over pressurizing the coolant or what, but my confidence in the health of the engine is in question now. Yay.

Being really slow with the Tore Ass. No Idea why i'm not working on it like i should.

I got the window in and the door panel back on. I think i'm going to pull the whole carpet out instead of what i just cut out. Then i need to put that seat in and get it out of the garage.

I was able to finally get the motor and trans on the ground. Now to rip it apart install a fresh head with ff valves, install windage tray. Possibly pull pistons and drill oil return holes and gap rings for boost. I would also like to pull the diff and weld the pin. Then onto trying to do a partial wire tuck and install my ms3.....more to come

Worked on aerodynamic mods for my car... so far I’ve got rear wheel skirts and air separation plates for the rear bumper in the prototype phase, which basically means they’re unpainted and I haven’t worked out proper mounts yet, but they work great and I’ve actually measured an improvement in coasting distances... waiting on a header and downpipe flange so I can do a full exhaust soon!

Got the carpet out of the Tore Ass. It needs another vacuum then install. Was going to do it today, but we went and test drove a summer car for my wife.

My Honda Fit had the radiator go out ( appears that way so far anyways ) and I didn't want to get an OEM shitty plastic end tank radiator and replace it again in 2 years so I'm going to make mounting brackets to use the 92-00 Civic half sized aluminum radiator

Stopped by Batteries plus and had them program my 02 SC2 for a new key fob. It worked and was cheaper than the dealer.

I keep making the same mistakes.

Guy on one of the Astra groups posted saying his insurance totaled his Astra XR after a wreck. I somewhat seriously asked about a part out. Got to talking to the guy about maybe getting the whole thing.

He sent me a copy of the estimate and it was 80% cosmetic. Nothing structural. No subframe replacement or frame straightening on there. Figured I could fix it for far less than their quoted price.

Talked to the wife and after some discussion, she was encouraging me to talk to the guy about a price. Verified our truck had what it would need to pull a dolly, the price of renting one, and I went back to talk to the guy. Agreed to $300 over his buyback for a car 3 hours away that I knew was wrecked and had never seen in person. That I didn't know if it would move enough to get onto the dolly after the 3hr drive up there. He said the driver side wheel wouldn't move. I figured it was in the strut and hoped the spare would give enough room. I was right!

Turned out, it was probably a really good deal. No reason for it to have been totaled. The estimate had a new hood on it. NOTHING wrong with the hood. New mirror assembly for $400 something plus paint for a small piece of broken mirror glass I can get on amazon for $10. etc.

New strut, ABS sensor connector and hard line to the driver side. Then a new fender and it should be 100% running and driving again. Then we'll decide which of the 3 we have we will sell and which 2 we will keep. Worry about the rest of the cosmetics on this one if we decide it is a keeper. (I think it will be)

Got header and exhaust installed this past week, not sure I’m 100% happy with the sound under high load/RPM but it does make more power up top now... for a 2.2 it goes pretty decent lol

Finally heard back from the machine shop after dropping my shit off there quite some time ago. Ended up doing quite a number on my motor...block needed an overbore, crank was fucked and needed a grind. Still waiting to hear the final word on the condition of my high comp head...really praying they can save it. Otherwise, I've got an untouched head I'll have them work up. Was really hoping to get the car running by this past weekend to show at street scene and that didn't happen. At this point, I'll be happy to drive it before the snow falls.
