Some updates. So my bilstein install, as well as it went hasn't made the struts last terribly long. The issue here is that I did not run the supplied dust boots that work with stock VW springs. The seals at the top of the struts were more for keeping the grease on the strut rod than the elements out. The damping has gone down hill quite a bit since initial installs. I'm considering picking up some new SP (sport version) of the same strut now that I have come up with a good solution. On the other hand for another ~$200 I could have some raceland's with better adjustability. Ahh choices. Anyway, here are some pics of the current setup. Moved the tall progress springs to the rear with some helper springs and motorcycle dust boots.

No dust boot in the last pic, but that was before install.

Other than that I've just been doing general maintenance and stacking up miles. Oh and finally got around to installing the 92 header I had sitting around for a while. No pics, but you all know what one looks like.

Got the rear coils installed the other night. Great improvement in ride quality over the old setup

I'll get pics of the car as soon as the fronts are on and I get the ride height set.

Much much better than agility. I plan on (when I have the funds) switching to Racelands in the coupe as well. Besides the pillow ball mounts making a bit more noise due to everything being solid they ride almost like a good drop spring setup.

It rides very well even lowered 3"+.

I'm thinking eventually I want to swap to a slightly softer spring up front and slightly stiffer spring in the rear to even it out. I also have some slightly smaller wheel spacers I need to swap on the front, then get some wheel studs and put the 12mm spacers onto the rear to push out the wheels.

This thread is in big need of an update.

Currently at TOTD, drove the car from TX after having around 70~80 miles on a fully rebuilt engine. In 1 week I pulled the engine, rebuilt it, reinstalled in the car and got it running for a short time. Broke it in on the 1000 mile drive across the country. So far it is running great with no oil consumption (before rebuild it was burning 1 quart every 1000 miles).

Car is currently sitting on H&R sports and KYB's, seems to be pretty neutral handling as is and is comfy enough for an old man's daily driver.
I'll update this thread when I get back home and continue to finish it up. I only have a few mods left to get done before I'm fully happy with it. For now I'm happy to have a well running daily vehicle.
