    Retrosound?

Anyone on here used one of these? http://www.retrosound.com/product-p/...61-661-662.htm

I'm curious how it looks & works. If it truly mounts flush, I'd consider opening my wagon options back up to 93-95.

Sorry, no experience. But I will say it looks loads better than the disco light show junk everyone seems to sell today. Price doesn't seem unreasonable.

Its not totally unreasonable, but definitely on the pricey side. I'd pay an extra $200 to have something that doesn't look like a fucking cyborg tumor sticking out of the middle of the dash.

Curious about how well they fit & work though. The interface could be awesome for media files, or totally awful. Impossible to tell.

Looks pretty good actually. I like it. Would buy for sure if I was in the market for a radio of that style. In all seriousness though. Look at the pioneer deh80prs. Best bang for the buck and it looks phenomenal. Its sub $300 most days.

That looks like standard mounting depth? On a 1G turd it will stick out like an inch beyond where the stock one sits.

Hide new better head unit in glove box. Control with mp3 player with Bluetooth. Profit.

Just measured the AM/FM/CD unit pulled from my '93. A shade under 5-3/4" from the back edge of the mounting flange to the rear of the radio.

I bought a compact marine radio to do just this... the one I got is a Fusion RA50. This thing is really small. It has an ipod connection, and there's an optional bluetooth module. Downside is only two channels of audio, so you have to wire front and rear speakers in parallel, and there's obviously no front/rear fader capability. Also, this thing is so small that you could fit it, and maybe a couple of gauges / switches in the existing hole for the radio. Fabricating a plate for it would be trivial. Styling is not really appropriate for the age of the car, if that's what you're after.

    Duct for center vents.

If I had a 1G, this would be worth the $400. Most aftermarket radio installs and kits look like shit in the 1G cars, and I'd rather pay the $200 than deal with some compromised custom solution like discussed above.
