Do you have a 5 bolt or 9 bolt head? I have a 9 bolt obx I'd sell you.

Larger compressor = more airflow BUT later/poor spool. You'll want something more appropriately sized.

Yes and no, larger compressor normally means larger turbine. Larger turbine means later spool. Large compressor+small turbine=hybrid turbo, I.e. t3/t4, less lag, lots of air flow. But he is correct, normally your compressor has an appropriate sized turbine for the power level that turbo is capable of.

    70lb/m turbo on a 1.9l making 10 psi = 😭😭😭😭

Try and find a holset hy35 most of the Cummins guys will just throw them in the scrap pile because it is no bueno on the 5.9l. but they are very very very capable on a 1.9l gas engine. I run one on a log manifold with a ported wastegate, and it gives 15psi by 3500. The compressor is capable of 60lb/m which is better than 500whp, more than you or I will ever need on a turd.

The obx manifolds had that flange pointing the wrong way...so the turbo would be hitting the hood.
And they are very thin so expect it to crack.

Joe had one on his gold wagon that he sold to Brett, it looked like somebody had welded support tabs into it. I think Brett sold it so he can't take pics. @importsdontlikeme

It held up for me, but I know it cracked on Brett. I wouldn't recommend them, but I guess you could make some support brackets for it. Or you could find a cast DSM manifold and do some light modding, that definitely won't break.

Yes it sounds like a dsm is going to be the best choice.

For what it's worth those fittings should be a fuck ton cheaper at a local plumbing place. I built a log manifold with a mild steel eBay flange and $15 worth of fittings from a local supply house.

I have read a post online it shows how to modify the dsm manifold to fit the 5 bolt head. Is there a certain year make or model I need to look for?

Of the metal is too thin it won't matter how many supports you weld to it. It will still crack.

Bracing it will drastically increase manifold life. The f1 guys would brace the fuck out of them, but they were also running paper thin titanium headers.
