    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Ridge_Parkway

The beginning of Skyline Drive is about 2hrs from our house (we will drive through Harpers Ferry WV on the way, very beautiful) and the end of Blue Ridge is exactly 1 hour from Fontana.

We are leaving a day early and staying in Roanoke VA on the way down as a half way point.

Brett let me know when you hit the blue ridge, I'll meet up with you and cruise with you a few miles if I'm off.

Actually let me know when you hit Roanoke, I'm only 45 min from there.

We might make a stop in Spring Hill if the timing is right. Would be nice to visit the birthplace of these things. It would add a few hours but we might be there anyway visiting a friend in Nashville. Is anyone interested in a quick meet up there before heading over to the dragon? It would be early in the day on Friday.

I'd be so down if I wasn't halfway across the world. Maybe in 2019 I'll make it.

There are rumors of a Homecoming meet in Spring Hill that weekend. It's part of the reason for the timing of our TOTD meet. Ecotechnation (look them up on Facebook), was going to plan and host, although, the last I checked, it didn't look like they were going to be able to pull it off.

Edit: The event page still says it's a thing, but not much in the way of responses from the organizer.

Yeah, we aren't sure the timing will work for us either. Our friends in Nashville are going to meet up with us in Gatlinburg. Yeah, i saw the econation thing but the organizer hasn't said anything about it in several months.... Including responding to inquiries. I was operating under the assumption that it wasn't going to happen. The additional 5 hours driving from Springhill to Fontana doesn't thrill me either. I'd rather spend that time in the Smokies ..

We are planning on taking a couple of hours and hiking a bit of the Appalachian trail. It looks like it runs right past the resort. Even if it's just one mile up and back, I'd like to check it out.

Less than a month now. How much does everyone still have to do to get ready (mine are listed in priority order)?

    Needs:
1.) Fix A/C leak and recharge system
2.) Re-glue fabric on sunroof shade

    Wants:
1.) Install rear disc conversion (I have had the parts for like two months, but haven't taken the time, also there will be a full write-up/how to including part numbers, I bought all new parts)
2.) Figure out sunroof issue, and fix it (It was stuck when I bought the car, but I was easily able to get it to function, then, it just stopped one day)
3.) Redo QP body seals (leaks into trunk)
4.) Weld a brace in the door to support the door check, not sure how bad it is really, metal is cracked and welded, but the weld broke loose. I've been to scared to take it apart without adequate time to properly repair if it's bad. Currently, it pops loudly at the check stop points.
5.) Find a trunk board and trunk fabric. Anyone have either of these you can bring?
6.) Fix cracked door panel before the leather split gets worse.
7.) Install antenna splitter and hide antenna mast in fender
8.) Replace iffy welded shift tower
    9.) Upgrade foglights (LED)
10.) Upgrade headlights (LED) suggestions anyone?
11.) Install antenna splitter and hide antenna mast in fender
    12.) Tint windows

Other wise, I'm good to go. And no, there is no way I get all (maybe not half) my wants done in less than a month, lol.

I'm pleased to say that the 2.2l is very happy in the wagon. It should have close to 3000 miles on it before the trip down.

The car would make the trip 'fingers crossed' as it sits however, I would like to do a few things

    Priorities:

Fresh royal purple oil change and k&n filter, go over the car, check pressures, fluids, 5.1 brakeman fluid flush, etc.

Install new rear sway bar endlinks (while I'm in there I'll probably throw in my new wheel studs so I can throw on my spacers)

I would like to get my A/C switch working from the inside of the car instead of under the hood (don't ask (I'll explain at the dragon))

I need to finish installing my fuel pressure gauge (wiring and sending unit)

Turbo timer.. meh it's been sitting in my garage for at least a year now.

Weld in new front subframe front cross member to work with the 3" downpipe

    Install MP2 5th

The following things probably won't happen..

GEO TB (the car already does rolling burnouts at 70mph with the stock TB not sure if this will make much difference)

Remove 4 wire IAC and install 2 wire IAC

Once two wire IAC is installed I'll have 3 available GPO's I'd like to use them for the following..

    Boost control (speed based)

    Shift light?

And electronic cut out that opens when in upper RPM's
I'm strongly considering putting a high flow cat on the car because I'm tired of smelling like exhaust if I have to sit at a light for long (this is my "daily" when I'm not in the company truck). The cut out will be nice because I can have the TEC control it based on RPM or MAP and not blow the cat to pieces from bouncing off full coil cut limiter.

    I think that's about it.

Ugh, you guys are gonna give me a panic attack...lol. I have so much to do still...

    Must do:
    Finish painting motor/trans
    Install motor/trans
    Set up exhaust
Finalize interior wiring (cluster and a/c-recirc switch)
    Install speakers/stereo/wiring/etc
    Complete Hein's shift cable upgrade
    Buy and mount 2 tires

    Hope to do:
Try to get A/C working (probably not gonna happen)
    Replace windshield (might not happen)
Finish up interior (install trim, headliner, etc-not gonna happen)

At this rate i will still be in the engine break-in period. I hope to have enough miles on it so I don't need to do oil changes on the trip.

I drove the coupe down one year with less then 600miles on the motor (not to mention the entire car) Talk about frantic.. ugh. Good luck man! Better get to work!

Glad to know I'm not alone, and that some things never change, lol.
@leadfootny, I've sent you a couple of PMs but they aren't in my PM history, which makes me wonder if you are getting them. Have you seen them?

I was wondering the same thing. But that was over a month ago I sent him a PM.

Onefast, i got one pm from you the other day... Didn't get any others. Imports, i haven't gotten anything from you since July 3rd so I'm not sure if i missed anything.

I wanted to talk to you two about the cabin/food. Will it have a full kitchen? How much do we want to cook vs dining out? What kind of supplies would we need for cooking? Imports, i know you said your wife eats super healthy. Does that go for you too? I don't eat terribly healthy...lol.

They have a really nice general store right in the village. The closest big grocery store is about 45min to an hour away. I typically just grab stuff on the way in and use the general store for the little things.

All of the cabins I've been in have a decent kitchen.

We aren't like crazy we still eat hotdogs and burgers lol.

I'm not too terribly picky. I don't care for much for anything more than mildy spicy. I'll also bring some cash to contribute if food is purchased on the way in if needed. I like to eat healthy, but that mostly means 4 pcs of bacon instead of 7 pcs; ect.
