    Resurface head

I am swapping heads from one motor to another. Do i need to resurface the head granted there is no discrepancies with a straight edge? Or can I clean it up and install a new gasket. It's an extra 65 for resurface. If I need to I will but is it necessary? I don't want to lose material if I don't need to.

if you can get all the old head gasket off of it, it checks true with a straightedge (or at least damn near), and the surface isn't all screwed up from scraping, filing, gouging, whatever, then I'd say go for it. But I'd also wait for some of the others to weigh in... /shrug.

It will be a stock motor (for now) I will be attempting a 5-7 lb boost as I am trying to accumulate parts. My compression is at 105 -110 psi and my current head is at minimum thickness. I have a spare motor with a rod knock or wrist pin going bad but compression was at 190 across the board so I was going to swap heads and install arp head studs at the same time. Was just wondering if swapping would also need a resurface? Thanks

I'd get it cut. Definitely won't hurt, and if it's gonna see boost, it's good insurance.
