    Ill pick up an LED from Batteries+ over lunch.

    The guys on the MSextra forums are suggesting gutting the ICM and installing the additional drivers into the MS3. Id rather attempt going with EDIS instead of dicking around with that if the LED test doesn't reveal anything meaningful.

    I wouldn't gur the icm if it's giving you a clean tach, I would just pull the coils off the icm and drive them with the MS. Two female spade connectors is all you need.

    So I would need to add an additional driver to the MS3 to drive both coils?
    Also I don't understand how to wire the coils individually without being connected to the ICM [Provide 12v to one spade and connect the other to MS3 for it to control ground???]

    Yes on the coil, +12 ignition and ground through the ms.

    As far as the ms3, I'm not sure what you need to run coils. I know with the ms1 and 2 unless I'm mistaken you need to build a coil driver, I'm unsure on the ms3. I'll look through the manual when I get a few minutes.

    Page 98 of the ms3 manual has a pinout and wiring diagram of a 4cyl cop using ls1 coils.

    Looks straightforward.

    I'll try to pull apart one of the OBDII ICMs tonight and see how to directly wire the coils so the MS3 can drive the coils.

    I think the obd2 is just a logic input to fire the coils. But it doesn't take the crank sensor input, the crank sensor is wired directly to the obd2 pcm.

    Obd1 icm is wired to the crank sensor and gives the obd1 pcm a clean tach signal.

    I'll leave the OBDI icm installed [Moved elsewhere] to provide clean tach.
    I'll then gut another ICM, make direct connections to the spade connectors for 12V and then have the MS drivers command spark [A "cleaner" version of just using spade connectors to plug into each coil]
