    crap idle

thanks to @S.Bretz my car runs again.

I jumped it to start it and let it run for 5 minutes to let the battery catch a charge. Shut it off and started it under it's own power to make sure i had fixed it properly. Which it did. However it sputtered and needed my foot on the throttle to stay running. I checked for codes and my reader told me nothing detected.

I had read on another thread to check for vacuum leaks which i will do later. I have to work the next two days.

Maybe the IAC is stuck closed? Have a different throttle body to toss at it?

Remove egr and clean it up? This is what mine looked like then cleaned it up (no photo of cleaned up). Make sure the other push bolt is free moving and clean it up with carb cleaner and a wire brush. Don't forget ects and maybe pull the plugs and check for carbon build up. You might wanna grab one of these android compatible blue tooth obdii's for 13 $ and the torquepro app for 5$ makes a huge difference when trying to diagnose problems.

My wife bought me this ODBII code reader from Amazon a couple of years ago. Spent almost 100$ on it. She'd be pissed if i got a different one. lol

I understand that haha. Buy it for a friend and borrow it so you can look at what all your sensors are doing. And your fuel trims.

After all the shennanigans it might be good idea to get the battery charged up and then 'reset' the pcm and let it start over with a fully charged battery. Low battery voltage will cause it to do weird things some times.
