New video is up! This video spans about a month of work and the time waiting for parts to arrive.

I like the box idea to paint the calipers. I have some black marks on my garage walls were I painted some things... I wish I knew about that box trick then.

If anyone has some suggestion for getting the gauge cluster working let me know! Currently only the tach seems to work.
Perhaps there's an adapter out there to modify the class 2 data going to the cluster from the Redline PCM?
Maybe some setting can be tweaked in HP tuners to get the rest of the gauges working?
-
looks great!! I thought about using the LSJ cluster but I like the look of the 95 cluster better. Not sure about the speedo not working. I used a signal converter for mine but I wouldnt think you would need that. Sam might have an Idea on why it wont work. Sam....Sam where are you?

If its a class two signal feeding the cluster then I have no clue what is going on in there. The magic pixies take all the class two data and convert it in the cluster. It just may not be compatible.
If you are trying to get the speedo to work on a 95 cluster then class two will not work - 95 did not use class two. The PCM commanded 0-5v to the speedo to move the needle. 5v pegged it, 0v was a zero mph.
AS for the coolant reservoir, you will most likely need to make an aluminum one.
Your shifting issue may be with the hydraulics. The slaves tended to go out on those. With the age of it, there is no telling. Check for hydraulic fluid coming out of the bottom of the bellhousing.
If you did not replace the slave, then it may be a good idea to put a new on in once you get the engine back out. The issue may just be the cables binding up like you mentioned, but I would still put a new slave bearing in there just because.

It's class 2 data feeding a 2006 torrent cluster so I figured it would be compatible with the ion pcm but I guess not. Weird just the tach and km reading work. I might end up putting the s series pcm back in and connecting the just vss, temp sensor ect. to it to drive the stock gauges. Really don't want to be might be the simplest option.
I'm fairly confident that the clutch isn't disengaging enough to allow me to shift properly. I think there is still air in the system. Now that I have the engine out I loosed up the bleed valve for easy access to bleed it really well when I goes back in. The transmission shifts just fine with the engine off.
As for the resovoir since I don't have the equipment to weld up an aluminum one I'm going to try my hand at jb weld again. I believe the issue was the jb weld did not bond well with the brass barb I used. So this time I'm going to use a plastic bard and see what happens. It's worth a try.

Sounds like your clutch needs bled, your prob right. Also make sure you are getting enough throw on the clutch master rod. No amount of bleeding will help if the pedal isn't pushing the piston/rod far enough.

Yep, I'll report back after another attempt at bleeding. Pretty sure that'll do it, if not I'll have to look into adjusting the rod or a different master.

I used the S car master cylinder and LSJ slave cylinder and it works great. Its a hybrid

I got some AN fittings to make a custom ss line I'll be installing this weekend. Fitting for a t56 fits in the s series master and a tr6060 fitting fits the LSJ trans slave. I didn't trust the one I made up with compression fittings to last that long so this will be a nice upgrade.

JB weld on an expansion tank is just asking for trouble.
As the reservoir expands and contracts, the "mix it and fix it" will break off and start to leak.

Well I jbwelded it again this weekend, it's holding so far. I know it not a permanent solution I just wanted something to keep the project moving until I can fab something up.
Also I'm happy to report that after putting in the new clutch line and a hour or two of bleeding the clutch feels great!! Firm right from he top of the pedal and the disengagement point is perfect.

Good news on the clutch.
Let us know about the expansion tank. I'm sure the community can find a solution if fabrication is not on the table.
When do we get a burn out vid?

Hey, I have some upgrades for that motor/ platform that I probably won't end up using on our Redline. I have a dual pass endplate for boost cooling system, coBalt SS brembo Calipers, and a stainless clutch line at least. I know you just got this on the road, but are you intrested in this stuff?
-
Maybe the duel pass and brembos. But it'd be a while before I installed those as I just got all new brakes. Where do you live?
