LSJ Swapped SW2 Sleeper Wagon Build

Hello everyone my name is Carter and I would like to introduce the car I'm currently building to people who will probably care the most!

Over a year ago I bought a 2001 SW2 in Quebec and drove it back to Ontario. I drove the car for the winter and loved it. The only problem with it, like my SC2 it was just wasn't very fast.
After searching the internet for things I could do to make it faster I stumbled upon psw71's thread and got a little inspired. I then very luckily found and saved a 2007 Ion Redline with very minor damage from a wrecking yard.

I'm documenting the whole process and it has progressed quite nicely already. I have started a YouTube channel called Noble Garage and will be posting videos of the build there regularly.
Please feel free to go check out my channel and videos, even subscribe if you'd like!
I am doing my best to produce quality enjoyable content to hopefully build up an audience. If you have any comments please let me know, and share my channel if you enjoy the videos.

I will also do my best to check and post to this thread regularly. Enjoy!

Welcome. I just subbed to this, it looks like it's going to be a pretty cool build. Thanks for sharing.

I'm really interested to see how you fix the crack in the bumper cover (if you don't just replace it outright). I've never fixed one on a Saturn before, but I've gotten a lot of mileage out of my Polyvance Mini-Weld 5 on a couple other bumper covers, and it might be a really good choice to fix it, if the cover is a thermoplastic (I think they even sell kits for fixing bumper covers).

Finally, it was kind of funny to watch the hood pop up on the Ion, I guess it's good that it didn't rip the hinges off and go flying.

Is that pic just a temporary setup, or did you go with 5 lug stuff up front? Why not run the 4 lug hubs?

I grabbed some knuckles and brakes off a regular ion from the wreckers so i can run 4 lug hubs eventually. The 5 bolt setup off the Redline does give me the bigger brakes for now.

I just left the 5 lugs on the for simplicity of not having to swap over the knuckles brakes ect.

I've been following your videos, I'm eager to see your subframe and mounts solutions. You are doing it petty much the way I would attack it!

Cool. I need to watch some of these. I'm usually too impatient to watch a video vs. reading a build thread/blog/etc. but I'll give it a shot.

I'm very curious how the front suspension geometry changes with the swap.

Making the sub frame rear mounts should be in the next video, I'll try to get it up soon. I'm trying to do everything as "factory" and proper as I can.

Are you recording your dimensions/templates/etc? So you can make a kit? Or share the info so others can make a kit?

The back and fronts subframe mounts I used the ones cut off the ion combined w angle iron, it wasn't exactly a science. It would probably be hard to reproduce accurately with just measurements. I would like to make a 3D model of the mounts tho so they could be machined or welded up from new material.
