I love those things, except for the stagger.

They are pretty solid performers. I don't hear many complaints about them. The STU cars look like silly fun, although in STU trim, I prefer the looks of the 350 to the 370.

It seems like the staggered tire sizes are common for sports cars [and BMWs in general]

The P275/35R19 rear tires aren't gonna be cheap. lol

Yeah, but it makes them handle like worse :P

    There is a reason every STU/STR/etc. prepped M3, 370Z, 350Z, S2000, Mustang etc. immediately goes to a non-staggered setup.

An old friend of mine had one just like that. He sent it to a tuner shop in Texas and had the motor built and a twin turbo kit installed. I can't remember the actual whp (670ish??), but he seemed a little disappointed when it didn't break 700 at the wheels lol. At one point he had a set of coil overs and white Work Meisters on it and it looked amazing. He sold the wheels when he did the turbo kit though

Looks like this half-baked idea will be put on hold. I'm getting pressured to go on assignment to Japan for a year starting in July. I tried to reject, but I get the feeling that I won't end well for my career in this department.

Why not travel, buy Japanese Z car, then import here to the states?

IDK, if I were to import anything from anywhere, I'd get a Ute or Holden from Australia. I've just never been in love with any of the Japanese cars. The car culture loves them for some reason.

Pff. Feed your $$ into investments. When you come back, your money will have grown a bunch while 370Zs will have depreciated. Pick one up or another car of your choosing at that point.

Yeah, that's pretty much my direction for the time being. I'll sell all the junk I don't want to store here, take that coin along with the cash that would be wasted on the new car and let it work for a year and a half.

I guess an unexpected benefit of going on assignment is that I get to cancel my Corolla lease and return it with no charges.
    So I'm freaking free! lol

As far as buying a unique car in Japan, I'll probably forgo that and get the obligatory liter bike.
The speed limits are freakin low over there, everything is congested, and there's no parking.
At least with the bike I can lane split and sneak around side streets.
