    Wheel bearing replacement question

ok on to another fun project. Seems my front wheel bearings are going bad, noticed he whirring sound the beginning of winter thought it was the tires being cupped, but tires are perfect .

so, I have a question on my project for 1 week from sunday. (3/25/201 may as well install the ceramic brake pads too. Glad to have a 3 day break from work for it.

Will an Alignment be needed when removing the steering knuckle? I am assuming yes but want confirmation. not sure myself. The service manual does not mention it.

going to be calling a few places for quotes on getting the bearings pressed on monday.

    Thank You in advance.

Yes, you will want to do an alignment. make sure you use a new axle nut too.

I have read that if you take the strut and knuckle out together you will avoid having to do an alignment. The alignment geometry is all in the strut to knuckle bolts and the tie rod but you won't be messing with the tie rod adjustment to remove the knuckle.

I think you meant to write " a new alignment is not needed"....

You can replace the hub/bearing assembly while on the car with the proper tools and not need to do an alignment or you can remove the knuckle with strut attached and used a shop press and not need an alignment. If you detach the strut from the knuckle then you need an alignment.

Yes you are correct , I am a Dumbass posting before editing lol

BTW The STEALERship wants 500 just for labor, they can kiss my ass

Guess I'm breaking it down and taking them to be pressed in for $40 each and then off to get a wheel alignment for $65. 80 + 65 = Affordable.
