    Parts car yay or nay?

okay going to buy a parts car in a few days for $200 thinking i may fix it for my girlfriend to drive for a bit, owner says its running rough and leaking oil out of the valve cover from the #1 plug (far left i may be mixed but its timing side) and its leaking out of there onto the engine through the spark wire guides, sounds like more like a flood to me lol, anyways i believe the rough running is from oil passing the plug which would make sense, and the rest of the oil is whats leaking, does anyone have experience with a leaky valve cover seems like alot of oil for just that? im thinking ill just go out there with my spare cover gaskets and some RTV and drive it back? Any other ideas as to what the problem is? (im getting hte car regardless it has a sc2 roof rack on it and i think its the factory one)

If the spark plug tube seal goes out it will fill the plug tube.

well i got that but it seems like alot of pressure to me to fill it all the way up and then run off the valve cover was all. he says he replaced the gasket and i think he did a bad job or something

Possibly, check the PCV valve, it could be clogged. But the spark plugs sit much lower than the valve cover, so any tube seal leak will eventually fill it up.

Not sure about these, but I know on some motors you can check for excessive blow-by gasses by taking the oil cap off while the engine is running and setting it upside down on the oil fill, if the pressure blows it off it's a good indicator of bad piston rings.

ah see i didnt think of blow by, that would do it, although he says its not burning which would also be a symptom. hmm ill be sure to check that while im there, as far as pcv couldnt i just rip it out of r ashort drive? id have awful oil pressure but that would keep it from building excess pressure as well (ive been told to undo dipsticks for oil burning to lip cars around not sur ehow i like that though)

Oil pressure comes from the pump though, not air pressure

I need to find a roof rack for mine, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to mount one since it didn't come with one, but it looks like they screw/bolt on through the roof, so I think it should be do able
