    Unhappy Aftermarket Radios

    MY question is:

Are Saturn factory radios protected or keys with the vin number?

the reason I ask is, I installed a double din touch screen radio with backup cam.
Now every time the ignition is turned on there is a beeping sound every few seconds for about 1 minute. is this a security issue?

I am using a wiring harness/ adapter to plug into the Saturn's Harness

The 3rd gen (00+) had fun changes implemented with the BCM addition. I'm betting that's the issue. I don't know the fix for you though, it may be hidden here in the site, or someone's brain
It's not my fault, blame the radiation.

I have aftermarket headunits in both my 01 SC2 and 01 SW2 with no issues. Just pulled the stock unit and installed the new. Used the wiring kit from Crutchfield that they came with. Is the beeping coming from the speakers, headunit itself or from the BCM computer under the dash?

The beeping is coming from the speakers. gets louder as you turn up the volume

That sounds like something is up with the headunit then. Maybe a setting you can turn off. There's nothing in the car that would be outputting sound through the speakers other than the radio itself.
