Crank position sensor pin out obd1.

I canít seem to find what the PIN number is for the CPS on a 94sx2. MS1 v3.0 is all I am working with. It has been so long since Iíve messed with this and most of the old install threads and links are broken now. Any help would be great.

Obd1 icm get crank signal, converts it, sends it to the pcm via the ref-hi, and then gets a timing signal back from the PCM via the est wire. Obd1 icm should be three wires to the MS, one for tac signal via the ref-hi, one for spark out, via the est, and one for bypass, it needs to see 5v after cranking to allow pcm or megasquirt command of spark timing. Otherwise it stays at a very lazy 10* timing advance.

I've made a few posts, and posted a few wiring diagrams to run to obd1, there are also hundreds of posts from other people on the subject here and on the old forum, if it's still active. Different racing had a really in depth article on the obd1 function.

Fuel only not spark. I saw all the diagrams for the coil pack harness. I did do some more searching and found this diagram

The other ones I kept seeing showed a8 as the vss high. Which I kept thinking was the speed sensor not the crank sensor

Same holds true, you want the ref-hi line, tap into it to give the MS a tach signal.

91-94, the tach output is the same as the high ref line. The two pins are connected internally to the ICM and split to two separate terminals at the connector.
So you can use either one.
On 95 they did away with the tach output wire from the ICM but it still works the same way...so you could technically add the terminal back into the connector and use the that new terminal.

.... tach output and ref-hi are the same signal.
