Preparing for Turbo (Advice?)
First of all, I love and adore my little 2000 Saturn SL2. I've had it for 6 years and it's clocked in at over 340,000 kilometers. I've been taking decent care of it, but want to spice things up a bit and go with forced induction.
Now before you go cursing my name and telling me not to, I want to say that I hear you but I want to have some fun with this thing and I'm not worried about the longevity of it anymore (so if it blows, I basically get a new project out of it).
I've already ordered a Megasquirt ECU, which I intend to play around with and tune to my existing NA setup. I've upgraded most of the exhaust system and am kind of humming and hawing about what to do next.
My options are: A) hold off on installing a turbo until next summer (warmer) and use the winter to give the engine a little lovin', or B) install the turbo sooner and see what she'll suffer.
I've been doing a lot of research, so I know what I'm getting myself into. I wanted to get some opinions, though, on what are some absolutely necessary upgrades to look at before throwing a T04E in there?

Did you order the DIYAutotune wiring harness as well? It definitely helps with keeping things labeled/ organized.

theres two sets of forged pistons/rods for sale at good prices in the FS section
-
Where is this FS Section? I can't seem to find it...

crap, new to the forum. can you start a build thread?

A straight to4e may be a bit large. You will not start seeing any significant boost until about 4k rpm.
A t3/to4e would be good though.

I think it's 3 posts plus 7 days active then it unlocks FS section? It's not particularly restrictive anymore

Yeah. I went with a "Trim" turbine T3/T04E.
-
Sure. Is that so I can use features on this forum that are not available to me yet?

Yeah, I just checked and it's 5 days + 5 posts. Then a utility runs a few times daily to "promote" users to full access. It tends to ward off the scammers and spammers

Not trying to build a race car just would like to build somthing with a nice littil kick when i want it. So like what would be the smallest turbo i can install? I have a 2001 sc2

A t25 of t28 would max out around 230-240hp. But I would go with at least a t3.
