Not So New Here.. Or to Saturns... Just New to Posting Here.

I've been a member here since 2010, though I was a long-standing member of another Saturn Forum (wish I could remember the name, though I think that the site is long gone..).

Anyhow, I have owned 7 or 8 Saturns, since about 2000. All have been S-series, from 92-99. Currently, I still own a 95 SC2. I purchased the car in 2004, and did a ton of customizing over the next couple of years. Some of the customization includes:

    -Cold air intake
    -Ported throttle body
    -Ported head
    -Flat faced valves
    -Head milled .040"
-Polyurethane motor mount inserts, including a TAM insert from Street Design Auto
    -ClutchMasters Stage II racing clutch
    -Fidanza aluminum flywheel
-KYB2 struts w/2" lowering springs (brand unknown)
    -Rear disc brake conversion
    -Front strut tower brace
And a number of other things...

In the past nearly 15 years that I've owned this car, I have only driven it a grand total of maybe 10k miles. Hence my reasoning for minimal activity on the Saturn forums. Well, that and a sour taste from a bad deal on the previous forum..

    So, why am I here?

Despite the time, and money that I have put into this car (and the effort that it took to keep my ex-wife from getting it in the divorce), I have finally decided that it is time for me to part ways with it. With that, I have no idea what to do with it. It only has less than 80k miles on it. Many of the upgrades that I added have less than 5k miles on them. Of course, it has been sitting for the past 2 years.

Is there still a market for these old Saturn parts? I would think that this car, despite it's decent condition, would make a great 4 cylinder stock at a local racetrack. Sadly, I do not have the time or ambition to strip it and add a roll cage. That said, if there is any interest, I may consider selling individual parts. I also have a ton of left-over parts from many of the previous Saturns that I have owned. I think that I have a couple of 92-93 SOHC and maybe a 95 DOHC engine kicking around. Been meaning to get them to the scrap yard for a few years now. Sometimes, it's hard to part with things that were so important to your past...

On to a new chapter in life.

I may not post here often, though I am curious enough to pop in once every so often.. Should anyone wish to learn more about me, shoot me a message. As a business owner, my personal character is easy to research.

If it's a 95 in good shape, you chan probably sell it whole for a good price. Especially if you are open to selling online etc. 95s are getting hard to find.
It's not my fault, blame the radiation.

It's pretty decent. Not like it once was, but nowhere near beat. It's got a few bumper dings (ex wife, ex gf..). The headlight covers have a little bit of rust forming at the leading edge.

Sadly, an ex gf turned the wipers on, before scraping the ice off the windshield. As a result, the cast aluminum wiper arm bracket broke. I have not been able to find a replacement. Figured I would design and machine a new part as a replacement.. Even more unfortunate though: as I was mowing the lawn this past Fall, I caught a stone, and sent it into the right rear triangle window. It didn't go through, but it spider-webbed the entire window. Again, good luck finding a replacement...

Even still, I am holding out hope to get this car on the road again. I actually just purchased a new set of tires for it, and I have a ton of spare parts.

    S. Bretz, I remember you from TurboSaturns.net (finally figured out the name). I was a long-standing member over there. My posting slowed after a bad deal with a member from California.. He scammed 6 or 8 of us. Once the site went down, I quit forums altogether, until about 2009. TSN was my first exposure to online forums, and through that site, I gained a strong appreciation for the value of them. Currently, I am a long-standing member of a billiard forum: www.azbilliards.com

It's been a long time since I was deeply involved with Saturns. I don't recall how to tell the difference in years, or how to determine an MP2 from an MP3.

I know that I have had both, but I do believe that I only have one good spare transmission in the shop. I THINK that it is a 93 MP2. But, I could be wrong. It is fairly easily accessible, so if you can tell me what to look for, I'll get you an answer fairly quickly. If nothing more, I will at least try to snap a photo of the numbers that are on it.

I managed to locate one of my old transmissions. It was a bit dark, and I was in a bit of a hurry, so I snapped a quick photo. It is definitely an MP2, though I was unable to determine whether the first character is a 'P' ('93) or an 'R' ('94). When I get back in the shop, I will get a better look at it. Might be a few days.

I have found that a nice easy trick to help make those characters easier to read is to rub the area with a medium grit sand paper (320/400). The trans will get cleaned off and the dirty numbers will contrast well.
