Piston Ring Compressors - OTC Plier style

    https://www.amazon.com/OTC-4840-Pist...ct_top?ie=UTF8

I've used the HF compressor tool with success until I ended up jacking up a piston one fateful night putting together the engine for the offroad build.
After that I ordered two taper compressors for 82 and 84mm, both which work great.
I could order another taper deal, but wanted to gauge the room to see who has used the plier type compressors before. Will these be the same headache that the HF deal is?

I have used the taper ones before and think they are easier to use. The have a smoother transfer of the rings into the bore. The compression types will work but I have had them scratch rings before on install. The advantage to them though is that they are more universal.

Suppose I'll end up with all of the flavors of tapered compressors.
The 86mm one will be ordered tonight, along with some oil fittings. Lets see if I can get this thing to not leak oil this time.
