    Look under my hood

    Hey enthusiasts!
I’m gonna leave these pics of what’s under my hood here and see what kinds of responses I get, because I know nothing about cars and the last mechanic I took this car to kinda scared me with pricey suggestions.

Also, does anybody else’s Saturn leak oil? Is that just a quirk of all Saturns or is mine just weird. Note, I’ve replaced the engine once but they’ve both leaked oil.

    Please and thank you <3

Leaking oil can happen on any engine. Gaskets get old and shrink allowing oil to get past. The older an engine gets the more likely it is to have leaks.

Replace the valve cover gasket to start. See if that fixes it.

Our cars use alote of silicone gasket maker. Ur oil pan, timing cover are ur main areas. I personally use silicone for my valve cover. Those valve cover gaskets not always seem to seal. Its probably just my luck. But 2 places I would have check is ur harmonic balancer pully seal. And your oil pan. Its could even be your oil pan drain plug. Those have a seal on it as well. When it comes to ur valve cover check the back of your motor. Behind your intake manifold. That's where your valve cover usly starts leaking.

Did anyone else notice that her TAM looks worn?
@jennysnook that motor mount on top of the engine to the left. See if you can get your finger between the metal and the rubber inside of it. Post a pic of that please.

Take note of the air filter. You will need a new cone. Yours looks like it isn't even attached, so you may have been sucking dirt and other stuff into your engine driving around with it like that.

Battery hold down appears to be missing too.
